How it works

You get a problem.
You figure it out.
Earn your rank.

Praxicraft does not teach you through lectures or tutorials. It puts you to work — the same way a real production team would expect from an engineer.

01

You get a case

Every challenge starts with a formal brief — a short description of the problem, who is affected, and what outcome is needed. It reads like a real work ticket, because it is modelled after one. No learning objectives. No hints. Just a problem that needs solving.

02

You open the data

The data is right there in your workspace — already loaded, ready to query or analyse. It might be a log file, a set of database tables, or a folder of exported records. Your job is to find out what is wrong, why it happened, or what the answer is.

03

You submit your answer

Write the code, run the query, or type the value. When you are ready, you submit. Our system checks your answer against the correct result — not a rubric, not a rough pass or fail, but the actual expected output. You know instantly if you are right.

04

You earn XP and get promoted

Every correct case earns XP. Enough XP and your rank goes up. The 17-rank system mirrors a real data engineering career ladder — so every promotion feels like something that actually matters.

Hints

Stuck? There is help — at a cost

If you are genuinely stuck, you can unlock hints. Each hint reveals a little more — from a nudge in the right direction to a near-complete guide. But hints cost XP. The more you use, the less you earn for that case. Use them wisely.

Common questions

Before you join

Do I need prior experience?

The first few cases in each track are designed for people who are still learning. You should be comfortable reading and writing basic code, but you do not need to be an expert.

How long does a case take?

Beginner cases usually take 15 to 25 minutes. Intermediate cases are 30 to 45 minutes. Advanced cases can take an hour or more. You can save your progress and come back.

Is it free?

Yes. Praxicraft is free. All cases and tracks are available without a subscription.

How does the ranking work?

You start as a Data Intern (Level 1). Every case you solve correctly earns XP. When you have enough XP and have completed enough cases to qualify for the next rank, you get promoted automatically.

Can I do all three tracks?

Yes. You choose a track when you join, but you can work across all three. Your XP and rank cover everything you do on the platform.
